A European summer of 2008:

The walk of a life time or our pilgrimage trip across the northern coast of Spain from Santander to Santiago de Compostela.  It was a long and at times tiresome daily walk of 20 to 30 km for about 3 weeks. We were all certified as official pilgrims of the St. James Camino de Santiago meaning we completed the required mileage of the true peregrinos (pilgrims).  I lost almost 20 lbs. and Yen lost about 7 lbs. and I developed severe toe blisters which prevented us from walking to the coast and on to Finisterre (end of the world).  We rented a car for the return trip to Santander for the flight back to France.  The drive took less than 48 hours of driving to complete what took us 3 weeks to walk.  To describe this walk is very difficult but the country-side is so beautiful and captivating.  Around every hill or bend some new vista would be more beautiful then the previous beauty.  We highly recommend this type of trip if you like developing your physical and mental well being.  We will do the Camino again only longer (2 months) and more mileage (400-500 miles) based on what we know now.

Paris on foot - what more can be said.

Then to Italy.
